As part of our services to school customers, we recommend, service and sell 3D printers to schools in Australia and the USA. To that end, we have been working with FlashForge and other 3D printer manufacturers for to supply schools with school-safe, reliable and quality 3D printers. We have sold and serviced thousands of 3D printers.
FlashForge has recently developed a new multi-colour 3D printer called the AD5X that can produce 3D prints composed of four different colour filaments. The first batch of 3D printers is about to ship to their pre-order customers so they sent us a demonstration model to try.

After further testing in the office, we can see that the FlashForge AD5X has quite a nice feature where you select the filament ‘slot’ as you print it. This lets you get last minute control of what you’re using. This is a different approach than Bambu Lab.
We printed this test Benchy boat print with generic filament that we had in the office. Click on the images below for the full image. We should try printing this again with high speed filament as this is likely to make a big difference, especially with stringing.
However, the four colour dragon uses generic filament and came out very nice! The lines show up more in the macro photo than they do in-real-life.
