Every month, Makers Empire hosts an in-app 3D design competition giving students around the world the opportunity to test their Design Thinking skills against their peers.

To coincide with the upcoming Chinese New Year, in January, students were challenged to create a design of an animal that is in the Chinese Zodiac using Makers Empire 3D software.

Students from all over the world submitted almost 4,500 entries for the Zodiac Zoo competition, which we really enjoyed looking at even if it made judging the designs quite challenging!

Ultimately, there were some standout designs so without further ado, congratulations to the following winners and runners ups!

Winner: Erik from Groveland Elementary School, Minnesota, USA
Design: Chinese Zodiac Animals

Runner Up 1: Artjom from Estonia
Design: Broken Butterfly

Runner Up 2: Nora from Duchesne Academy, Houston, Texas, USA
Design: Horse Eating Grass

Runner Up 3: Ami from Israel
