Every month, Makers Empire hosts an in-app 3D design competition giving students around the world the opportunity to test their Design Thinking skills against their peers.
For June’s ‘You’re Welcome’ competition, students were challenged to imagine that a refugee family had recently moved into their neighbourhood. Students were asked to design a gift for the family using Makers Empire that reflects the student’s culture and makes the family feel welcome. Students were encouraged to be as creative as they like and reminded to write a welcome note to the family in their design description.
Students from all over the world submitted almost 10,000 entries for the ‘You’re Welcome’ competition. We really enjoyed looking at all the entries if it made judging the designs quite challenging! Ultimately, there were some standout designs so without further ado, congratulations to the following winners and runners ups!
