Every month, Makers Empire hosts an in-app 3D design competition giving students around the world the opportunity to test their Design Thinking skills against their peers.

For April’s Happy Hats competition, students were challenged to design a special hat using Makers Empire 3D software. Their brief? To design a special hat to keep one of their parents, teachers, or other grown-up friends safe at their work. For example a hard hat for a builder, a sun hat for a teacher, a hairnet for a cook etc and so on. Students were encouraged to be as creative as they like.

Students from all over the world submitted almost 18,000 entries for the Happy Hats competition. We really enjoyed looking at all the entries if it made judging the designs quite challenging! Ultimately, there were some standout designs so without further ado, congratulations to the following winners and runners ups!

Winner: sofialdash
Design: Artist’s Hat

Runner Up 1: AngusBVlo
Design: Headphones for a teacher

Runner Up 2: Toni Marie
