Designing 3D solutions to reduce infection spread
11:15am to 12:35pm – SOLD OUT

As we are all aware by now, infections can be spread in many ways. Clever design and engineering can be used to minimise this transmission. In this Problem Solver attendees will be presented with a real-world problem related to performing everyday tasks in no contact ways to prevent the spread of infections. Attendees will be supported through a design thinking process to develop 3D designed solutions to the problem. It is recommended you bring your own laptop or device to this workshop, download Makers Empire as per the instructions below and then use class code: 9279map. We will have limited devices for people without their own devices.

Comparing buggy to design - Mars Rover

Modelling and making on Mars with Makers Empire
1:55pm-2:35pm – LIMITED PLACES

Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun – a dusty, cold, desert world with a very thin atmosphere. Mars is also a dynamic planet with seasons, polar ice caps, canyons, extinct volcanoes, and evidence that it was even more active in the past. Attendees will use Makers Empire 3D to work through the design thinking process to address a brief for either a rocket, a spacecraft landing device, a space helmet, a Mars Rover, and a sleeping station. Please bring your own laptop or device to this workshop, download Makers Empire as per the instructions below and then use class code: 9279map. We will have limited devices for people without their own devices.
