At Makers Empire, we constantly seek out feedback on the Makers Empire 3D app and our accompanying teacher’s resources from classroom teachers and students. Members from our learning, technical and user experience teams regularly visit schools to deliver professional development and training to groups of teachers and test new features with students. Our products are designed for teachers and students so their insights and feedback are an essential part of our product development process.

Occasionally, we’ve had school customers ask us if they can bring a group of students to visit the Maker’s Empire office at St Paul’s Creative Centre in Adelaide, South Australia. We always enjoy hosting the teachers and students and have used this as an informal way to test new features in the app.

We have now decided to open our doors to all Makers Empire school customers for a complimentary program of school visits to the Makers Empire office in Australia. This will give your students an opportunity to visit Makers Empire HQ, to meet the team, to hear a talk from our team members and help test the Makers Empire 3D app.

What Schools Need to Know

  • School visits to Makers Empire HQ must be booked in advance. We regret that we cannot accommodate walk-ins.
  • Groups to be accompanied by teachers/caregivers (supervision ratios 1:5 for R-2, 1:10 for 3-5, 1:15 for 6-8)
  • Photos of your school visit will be shared with our community. Your usual school consent form for photography should suffice or you can use our consent form. Students who do not have permission to be photographed can, of course, be excluded from any photographs.
  • Depending on the timing of the school visit, students are welcome to bring snacks, drinks or lunch. We are in a shared co-working space so please do take all rubbish with you.
  • There are on-site toilets.
  • School visits only take place at Makers Empire HQ in Australia.
  • Please note that the venue has stairs and has limited disability access.
  • We regret that we are generally unable to offer in-school visits, workshops or training for schools with a regular subscription to Makers Empire. We are a small team servicing 1,000+ schools so we operate a mostly online model.
