We’re thrilled to announce that Makers Empire has been awarded $400K under the Accelerating Commercialisation element of the Entrepreneurs Program. Existing investors have matched the grant dollar for dollar, which is a key proviso of the program.
The Australian Government program provide financial support to help commercialise innovative products, processes and services, and improve their productivity and competitiveness.
“The Makers Empire 3D printing learning program is already being used by over 59,000 K-8 students in hundreds of schools across Australia, America and Asia. This total $800K in funding will allow us to expand our reach across the world,” said Jon Soong, CEO of Makers Empire.
Makers Empire has recently partnered with New York State public schools and the New York Institute of Technology’s Technology on a successful pilot to introduce its 3D printing learning program to a dozen New York State schools.
“Prior to the pilot most of our schools were struggling to understand how to integrate 3D design and printing into cross curricula activities,” said Professor Stan Silverman, Director of NYIT Technology Based Learning Systems. “The Makers Empire pilot has provided the beacon for schools to follow that are opening opportunities for students that simply were not on the table before the pilot,” he added.
“Plenty of schools are interested in 3D printing, but many don’t know how to approach the new technology,” said Jon Soong.
“Makers Empire can quickly and easily prepare any school in the world for a 3D design and printing program in a matter of hours without even going onsite. We are extremely excited that the Australian Government has committed to support this opportunity.”
