Two Makers Empire’s team members are currently in Singapore for EduTech Asia, Asia’s largest education event.
Mandi Dimitriadis, Director of Learning, and Anthony Chhoy, Co-Founder, went to support a presentation by Asst. Professor Matt Bower from Macquarie University about the university’s pioneering research project on primary school makerspaces based on the use of Makers Empire in three Sydney schools, and to explore opportunities in the region.
Anthony also took part in the first-ever EduTech Asia pitch competition and won! Well done, Anthony!

The prizes for winning the EduTech Asia pitch competition include:
- Automatic entry into the first cohort of the EduSpaze Accelerator, which will help Makers Empire develop our Singapore and South East Asia strategy. EduSpaze is Singapore’s first edtech accelerator supported by Enterprise Singapore. It aims to nurture a vibrant EdTech startup ecosystem that serves the education sector in Singapore and Southeast Asia. Eduspaze helps EdTech startups go to market, accelerate their growth, and co-innovate with other stakeholders in the space to address sector-specific challenges with innovative solutions that improve learning outcomes and the impact of education;
- Review of our Design Thinking program by the Education Alliance Finland for certification of pedagogical quality. 100 Finland educators will review our Design Thinking program as part of this certification process; and
- $5,000 cash prize.
