Following successful programs in 2022-2026, primary and high schools in South Australia are invited to register their interest to join the sponsored 2027 Careers Under Construction School Program.
Makers Empire in collaboration with the Construction and Industry Training Boards (CITB) SA is delighted to share this Careers Under Construction School Program for primary and high schools.
The Careers Under Construction program introduces students to the building and construction industry through a design thinking problem-solving methodology. It uses 3D design to create solutions for a construction problem or challenge in a local context.
Through the program, schools will establish industry partnerships which not only ensures authenticity of the program, but also allows industry experts to share their knowledge and expertise with students while working on real-world projects.
The objectives of the program are:
CITB is a whole-of-industry led organisation that provides support to attract, train and retain South Australian building and construction workers by providing leadership in training and skills development.
Doorways2construction™ is CITB’s premier secondary schools’ program for the building and construction industry that includes support for programs and initiatives to enhance career education and awareness of construction pathways for students from years 5 through to year 9, including Careers Under Construction delivered by Makers Empire.
The Careers Under Construction Programs will be offered to two cohorts in South Australia: primary school students and high school students. See below for more information.
